All Hail the Coming of Senator Government!

"Senator Government" is my favorite faux pas, or is it Freudian slip, of this whole campaign. Well,  maybe "57 states" is my favorite. Either way, it sums up the Obama philosophy in a nutshell, and McCain should use it repeatedly until Election Day. Even though "Joe the Plumber" may be used instead.
In short, government begets government, and only the government can fix what the government has failed to do. Except we the people pay for it.
I am sorry, but I do not believe our government, in the hands of Obama and a Democratic majority, is capable of fixing very much. Not when our representatives, who are in an oversight position, cave to lobbyists who want to dismantle that very oversight. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, I am looking in your direction. As in the case of Herbert Hoover, raising taxes during a recession leads to a depression Senator Government!
Which is why I was dismayed this past weekend, when one of my best friends remarked that he was actually hoping for a bit of a slowdown in the coming months, to teach the greedy b*st*rds a lesson. He also called capitalism a house of cards, and believed wholeheartedly in spreading the wealth. Bless him, he has a good heart and means well, but seeing as I have been unemployed for many many months and am desperately looking for work, a slowdown is not what I want at all. Negative growth means less or no hiring by companies. Does he realize that his job may be affected, too? He owns a triple-decker house and rents out two floors. He's had trouble getting tenants for the last several months, will it be easier during a recession or depression? I don't think so.
I think it's a shame that an opportunist like Obama, so articulate and smooth, should be so far left. Imagine if he were a genuine conservative and running with Palin, it would be a slam dunk.
Anyway, this being my first rant it is not quite on topic, nor very thought out. C'est la vie. Pardon my French.
